They may be 12 years old next year, but I can understand the requirement to get tid of the RV's, for accessbility reasons, but coupled with the network direct cuts which are coming up, the 65 VT's should be enough to replace all RV's along with planned fleet reductions.

There is absloutely no need to replace any low floor buses, to do so is a total waste of taxpayers money. If Dublin Bus wants to replace low floor buses, which are just 12 years old they should be told, sure you can, but you have to pay for them yourself. This country is broke.

The Midibus stuff is laughable, when Bus Eireann are at the moment looking like they will withdraw perfect good single deckers. You can just imagine CIE's claim, they crow they need single deckers very badly, a few months after withdrawing a few of them, any other company would not withdraw so many in the first place.

CIE really needs to manage it's fleet better throughout both Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann, it's amusing they will throw perfectly good buses out, then go and run to the department and say that they need more vehicles in the knowledge in the past they have got their own way.
