Getting rid of the current AV's in a years time is nonsense, I've been treated to quite a few different 2000 AV's in the last week or so thanks to Harristown making changes to allocations, and pretty much every one I've been on is still performing really well and the interior is holding together pretty well with no rattles squeaks cracks or that kind of thing, sure some of them look a little tired inside and you can see have had bells replaced, or some panels have faded a bit, but nothing too serious.

It just shows how the build quality of Alexander has fallen, as despite the EV's being a next generation model of essentially the same body, they are much more rattly than AV's that are nearly four times the age of the EV's. The build quality on the AV's for me is much higher than the EV's. Thats not to say every AV is perfect, they are not and there are some roarers and some which are rattly, but thats more to be expected from a bus at their age, we shouldn't have a situation where buses less than 3 years old are at this stage.
