Yeah, I'm back. For a short while, though. Anyway.

I'm glad to hear that BÉ is getting new buses. While I haven't been on a LC (except for the LC5 which gave me a bad enough opinion), I heard many bad opinions and thus I'm a little disappointed that they are going for them. Unless there was something else in the tender (I didn't read it fully), I assume they went by price - normal among Polish operators, for example. Scanias are good and I'm happy to see more of them.

On the city side. While the Galway's 9 (and, in sunny days, 1, as I saw DD11 once working a Salthill-Eyre Square short service, transferring to 9 afterwards) is well used (OK, the 9 - not always - the Saturday 0945 from Eyre Square would be me and the driver only), I have no idea as to Limerick either. I'd be glad to have something new in Galway - the Volvo B7RLE start to bore me after two years of continuos use, despite the ZF gearbox sounds (and yet they are four-speed... like 5HP-592 or 6HP-592 don't exist) etc. MC are a rare breed now (Moneenageisha -> city centre, trying to kick into a gear - listen and feel it!), and the DPC... haven't had one of those for months now. DDs, as there are only two of them in Galway, are also rare and I only caught them twice (Saturday, 0945, 409, Eyre Square -> Parkmore). There are popular services in Galway and we definitely need two or three more double-deckers... what did CIÉ do to scare people off their buses in the 80s?

Anyway, good to hear new buses coming... hey, can't you hear the sound of the new Volvo's yet?
