Interesting, I can see why Galway would need ten citybuses (2 X DPC and 8 X MC replacements), but I am not sure why Galway is getting six new coaches?

Six of them sounds like they are getting something new for the 20 and the 64, but Galway only have two buses on the 64, which is cross border, and they only have two coaches to cascade onto schools.

That would mean that if Galway is getting six coaches then BÉ is not making the best use of its rather limited resources - coaches bought for use on cross border services, Eurolines and Tours can be bought VAT free so that makes them 20+% cheaper.

I would have thought that it would be good management to ensure that all coaches bought would be put on services where they can save the company (and by extension Joe taxpayer since we ultimately foot the bill for BÉ) money, as cross border, Eurolines and Tours enable Bus Éireann to do.
