I've gone off listening to rumours from now on because there is just so many of them out there. Like the one about the Bus Eireann AM's and Dublin Bus VG's being swapped, i knew that would never happen. To be honest i don't think anything about it anymore and i will just not believe anything until i see it. Yes RH12 is right, those VC300's should be gone off expressway routes they are not good enough for such routes. The 05 & 06 SP's are very shabby now and need to be replaced, the new coaches should be put on expressway's such as routes 30 & 32. The SP's are in bits and i am starting to go off them to be honest. They are only fancy looking but the interior is crap and badly designed and was not meant to last, the old VC's lasted for years and still last. Even the old CVH's and DVH's still lasted forever. The SP's and unfortunately the new SC's which i love at the moment are going to turn out rubbish aswell in another few years because they are not strong or durable enough.
To be honest the LC's are a great bus and i know they will last. They are strong and powerful and a great bus mechanically, they just got themselves a bad name when they were knew but now they are a fantastic bus and one of the best buses you could get, not a rattle or vibration or anything from them, unlike the SP's and new SC's. I know many drivers who will take LC's over the SP's. The majority of Dublin drivers love the LC's. They were a great bus in the snow and ice, the best bus you could've got, while the Scania's were slipping and sliding all over the country. I used to hate the LC's when they were new but i've got used to them now and i do like them, i just don't like the seats on them as they are small and very hard, and i hate their slowness such as the door waiting for it to be fully closed and after 3 seconds then the bus pulls away, and putting on the indicators, wipers, or flash or beam on the lights takes 1 or 2 seconds to come on, which i think is dangerous and hazardous because why should the lights, indicators, wipers and even brake lights take 2 seconds to come on, its a joke, they should come on straight away, that bit i don't like, but mechanically i think they are fantastic bus. They also have great radios/reception which i love
. The radio's/receptions on the SP's are pure brutal, the one's in the new SC's are not much better either. And you'd be doing well to find an SP at the moment where the door closes fully completely, they are getting like the VG's, also the new SC's have terrible doors, they don't seal at all, the bottom part does and the top sticks out, or on some of them the top bit seals and there is a small gap at the botttom corner where the rubber around the door at the bottom step has disappeared
