The 51 and 8 are also well used and could take tri-axles, but they should get cascaded ones not new ones because of the fact that they are not cross border routes.

Also of note is the possibility that there could be no CIÉ tours vehicles of any description if they start outsourcing it entirely - this will mean that there will be 68 new/newer coaches (15 cascaded SPs, eight tri-axle deckers, 20 i6s and 25 SCs) on service duties next year, and if all coaches are replaced on a one-for-one basis then there will be enough coaches to clear out all remaining original VCs (four of these now), VPs (20 of these), and most of the 01 SCs and 01/02 SRs, hopefully because there are 25 SCs on the way they will put the SRs on schools and leave some SCs in service. Of course Broadstone could do with some extra Expressway coaches, because they seem to be using a lot of privates these days even though they are not supposed to be that short of drivers and have loads of commuter coaches lying idle but these can't be used on Expressway because of EU rules on state funded buses.
