Were Wrights or Volvo at the NEC? Did they say anything about when we can expect delivery of the new citybuses?
You can bet your left leg that the most if not all of the citybuses will get local regs, the ones for Cork will definitely get C regs, I remember when Cork had those dealer stock VWLs there was controversy over the fact that Cork got brand new buses (what actually happened was Waterford loaned them out to Galway, Limerick and Cork - 145-157 were always intended for Waterford) with a non-local registration, some drivers were allegedly unimpressed that those VWLs did not have the all important C reg! I was surprised that Capwell took 158 and 159 with their D regs to be honest, it's one thing taking a secondhand bus with a non local reg (that's fine as VW8 and 9 as well as VWL2-5 showed) but a brand new one without a local reg is a different story!
Waterford is very unlikely to get anything this time round - their oldest citybuses are the 07 VWLs! They may get something to release a few AMs for Athlone, but my guess is that either Dundalk or Broadstone will be the ones who will release AMs for Athlone, more than likely Broadstone though as always you'd never know with BÉ!
It is likely that the commuter coaches will get D regs, because that's what happened last time and the only time it didn't happen for commuter coaches was with the 04 SRs.
Expressway coaches will obviously all carry D regs.
