But i-Shift and AS-Tronic with no manual control whatsoever eliminate problems 1 and 4, problem 2 can easily be solved by remapping the ECU in the engine so that it produces less torque in the lower gears(or more cheaply by telling the drivers not to take off like Michael Schuhmacher), I don't know about problem 3 but I would agrue that surely the fuel savings and added performance must outweigh that disadvantage?
