In fairness, SL was totally right when he said Capwell were getting tours SPs and VWDs 3 and 4, despite other posters contradicting him. I remember it being posted here that someone had it 'confirmed' by management in Broadstone no less that VWDs 3 and 4 were not coming down and they did!

However, I'm not going to get too excited about Capwell getting a lot of new deckers just yet, simply because both times VWDs were ordered we were told at various stages that Capwell were getting all of them and we saw how that panned out!

Whatever about getting cascaded deckers (which could be a very good thing depending on what new deckers are ordered, I'm expecting B5TL Gemini 3s, but I would be most delighted if they were still able to order B9TLs because of the much larger engine and because the VWDs have excelled in all the important areas so far), I certainly do not want to see any more LCs coming down, be they commuter or Expressway. I know some people like them but really there is no comparison between these and a Scania. I have no issue with cascaded VWDs, even DDs wouldn't be too bad now that DD17 seems to be out each and every day, especially if they get Euro 6 Volvos with the small engine, getting cascaded VWDs from Dublin would be wonderful in fact.

I'm sure there'll be lots of interesting rumours between now and whenever buses start to be delivered, the madness of 2011-2012 when we were waiting for the new buses to turn up and all the rumours of where certain new buses are going to, and where certain buses are being cascaded to go won't be too far awaysmiley: laugh.

My personal hope is that at long last all the outstanding suburban routes in Cork will finally be given city style timetables, and proper good frequencies. With 25 new city buses on the way, it would be the ideal opportunity to finally get rid of some of Capwell's coaches in favour of city buses, as many of the suburban routes feature coaches when they shouldn't. Also, it would be perfect for increasing Capwell's PVR so that the suburban routes can have proper high frequency timetables, which although expensive initially, will prove to be successful in the long run, if the 215 is anything to go by.
