Been looking at the results of early in service trials of the B5TL , if this is what Bus Eireann are ordering for Cork we will be in a lot of trouble , early indications are that even with the lighter body the engine is not delivering the power levels promised by Volvo , with full loads on smooth flat roads they are described as under-powered , an unexpected issue has also arisen with the lighter body , when empty it seems the bus is difficult to control when hit broadside by high wind.
On the face of it , if they are going for Volvo's the B5LH looks to be the better bus , weather they will order 25 hybrids without trials remains to be seen though.
