The SL's are being refurbished at present but there are 2 problems , one is that the level of damage being found under the panels is worst than expected so the work is taking longer , the other problem is capacity , the DD's and B5TL's have Capwell maintenance stretched at present with pressure on the fleet (especially since several of the 220 based VWL300's are having suspension problems) and as such it can be difficult to actually release an SL for its overhaul , despite how they look and their ongoing body issues the SL's are mechanically a very good bus , not wanting to get anyone into trouble (so no details) I was on an SL yesterday which does not to have a working speed restricter , take my word for it the SL's are fast on the open road and would easily keep up with an express coach , an SL will always get you where you are going , even if it looses most of its bodywork getting there lol.
Those SL's which have been refurbished are like new.
