Yeah you're right about the VWLs. I well remember seeing holes in the ceiling boards (not to mention the taxsaver tickets) on more than one occasion, the 205 doesn't clock up a lot of miles but that doesn't for a second mean buses allocated to the route have an easy life, between the vandalism inside and appalling ramps along College Road. Oh how I'd hate to be a driver on that route!

I suppose the advantage of putting single decks on the route at night is that it is less of an issue losing a VWL for a few days over losing a DD or a VWD given that capacity is all important on this route. I don't think it's fair on the passengers of other routes to pinch deckers off that to cover 205 buses being off the road because of vandalism, but as you know well, the extra capacity of a VWD or DD is desperately needed in the mornings. I suppose losing a decker for a few days because of this is less of an issue now than it used to be because there's so many more deckers in the fleet and there are a good few spares.

Actually, does the extra evening bus on the 205 and 208 stay out the whole night? I was looking at the timetables for these routes recently and it looks like they stay out till the very end.
