Good question, but at least Broadstone are using their ones properly unlike Galway who thus far have them on piddly little runs that a 10 year old coach should be on. I don't begrudge Dundalk getting their seven for the 100X either, given the fact that a deal was done on these coaches it makes sense for them to be used on routes like this which wouldn't normally be in line for brand new coaches. But I'm very unimpressed with the way they're being used in Galway, it's all short runs or lightly used services.

I note that the VEs have an i-Shift gearbox, this is quite a surprise, I expected BÉ would keep things simple and go for the ZF Ecolife option even though i-Shift is standard, on the other hand this will mean the VEs will offer superior fuel economy to the SEs. Hopefully the VEs will be prove to be a vast improvement on the last two occasions Volvo coaches were purchased.
