I would think so Mark, but I do know they are fitted with some sort of distance sensor, I think it's got something to do with an EU regulation on newly built coaches, so it's possible that the VEs and latest batch of LDs have it also. Here is a photo of Rosslare's SE43.

I note that on Darren Hall's flickr site that he states VE10 is a Broadstone based coach, this would tie-in with what SL has said previously about the 100X coaches officially being allocated to Broadstone despite the fact that the route is operated by Dundalk depot and the coaches for the route being based in that depot. I think something similar happens with the schools buses as well, I think a couple of the 'Limerick' OPs were actually maintained in Athlone and the 'Phibsboro' AW class Dublin Bus had were actually maintained in Broadstone.

For the purposes of the fleet allocation thread I am going to leave them as Dundalk, as that's where they are based, but officially all of VE1-10 are BST machines.
