I'd say that it is more profitable for Jim Burke to buy / lease his own coaches rather than sub contract the work out. It is his primary licence now, so he will want to make hay when the sun shines. That is interesting that he has taken on some of the Callinan's fleet. I would have thought a small operator would be better keeping the bus type the same to simplify maintenance

I dont know that he could be too annoyed at Callinans working for Citylink also - at the end of the day business is business. Callinan's themselves have in all liklihood had a very successful few years to 2009, but may now be facing tougher times. The money is smaller now from BE for contract work, and the story goes that they gave that up, and their only big contract is Citylink Direct, which is subject to a court action. They appear to be a very professional company, so I hope they dont hit on hard times in the coming months and years.
