There have been topics above what our favourite buses are, or what have been the best ones to travel on. I just thought I'd ask what you would consider to be the worst bus you have travelled on. If you can't remember too far back, then one from more recently is fine. For me I haven't really travelled on many very poor buses, and so far my journies have been fine, apart from the odd transfer or alarms sounding. I don't mind roarers, as you may know, but most here think otherwise. I have been on buses that have rattled and squeaked or might have made strange sounds, the obvious things that could be considered a fault. Most faults have been very minor and not really noteworthy of the condition of the bus, in my opinion.
One bus, however, that I would consider to be the most horrible bus I have ever travelled on was RV333 a few years ago, in its Cityswift days. I remember hearing it a couple of das before I travelled on it and it seemed that the silencer was gone. Then, when I did travel on it, I was greeted with a sort of burning smell. When I sat down the back, I noticed that the lights were extremely dim and the bus was still very noisy. During the course of the journey, I could feel that the rear seat, just where the engine is, was extremely warm, and much warmer than usual. I actually considered saying to the driver that I was concerned at the condition of the bus, but he is the type who wouldn't really take such things into account. I'm surprised nobody brought it to his attention. Anyway, we went past C/Road garage without pulling in and continued our journey. I can only assume the bus made it to Rathcoole and back without breaking down. Obviously the drivers or maintenance had no issues with it, which is why it was allowed out in that state. It was sorted out a short time later anyway. It was just such a horrible bus to travel on that day, and so far no other bus I have been on has come close to being as bad as that.
