- Route 109 Dublin - Kells - Cavan
- Route 109 Dublin - Kells - CavanI travelled on SR22 on the 70 from Drogheda to Navan at 16.15 this afternoon. It was always one of my favourites when it was based in Kells for route 109 for many years and now its quite some time since i've been on it, i was expecting it to be grubby and dirty and manky but to my surprise the bus was in great shape, she's very powerful, new-ish cd radio, quite comfortable, and all that was wrong with it was that the seats looked dirty and grubby but besides that she is in very good nick. A good choice of bus for Dundalk to get, this also makes sense fleetwise as it will join SR23 & SR24 based in Dundalk, so they now have SR22, SR23 & SR24. The 04 C SR40's are based in Monaghan.I have been on 3 or 4 of those 04 reg SR's while in Cork and although i don't like either of them i would prefer the 01/02 reg SR's than the 04's. Also wouldn't recommend an SR for this being an expressway route but it was in great condition and there was only 3 or 4 people on board anyway. I wonder will they eventually take off this now once a week service. Hopefully not. By the way i was expecting an old SC for this route or maybe a VG, VG9 perhaps as that bus is not branded, even though its on the 100X every day, while the others (11, 17-20) are all branded for this service, and i did see VG9 on this route about a year ago. Anyway, SR22 certainly gets the thumbs up from me!
