I'm very reluctant to start a new thread but as this topic applies to the four cities outside of the pale, and, presumably will over time, to services in the other towns and perhaps nationally, I thought I'd add a few comments.
Subject to correction, there appear to be 24 routes with NTA-format timetables so far
The positive as I see it
The negative as I see it
.
Subject to correction, there appear to be 24 routes with NTA-format timetables so far
- 203, 205, 215, 216
- 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 343
- 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 407, 409, 410
- 601, 602, 603, 604, 605
Although I view the arrival of this type of timetable as a positive development, I seem to have found more 'cons' than 'pros' below.
The positive as I see it
- The format is homogeneous*
- There is a logical layout
The negative as I see it
- There are no 'valid from' (or 'valid to') dates: this is a serious flaw
- There are no contact numbers or depot details
- Older people seem to have difficulty with the 'at the same minutes past each hour' format
- They seem to be unavailable in 'hard copy' outside of bus stations in the four cities
- Some of the chronological spacing between timed points is unachievable e.g. R304
- The layout restricts the amount of timed points to 5
- There is no 'via' or routing information
- *As Piotr has said, there appears to be an evolutionary subtle change in format over time
.
